Pam Mallory Johnson •Certified Stott® Pilates Instructor •Licensed Gyrotonic® Instructor •AmSAT-Certified Alexander Technique Teacher •Movement Rehabilitation Specialist

Pam has been a movement instructor and educator for 19 years. She is a certified Pilates instructor with a certification from STOTT Pilates and is a licensed, certified GYROTONIC® Instructor. Pam is also an AmSAT certified Alexander Technique teacher and graduate of the Alexander Technique Institute of Los Angeles completing a 3-year, 1,620 hour program. She uses somatic techniques including Feldenkrais and The Franklin Method. Pam also has a performing arts background including dance and theatre. Her journey to becoming a movement professional, started with a painful hip condition known as congenital hip dysplasia. “For years, I suffered from hip and back pain from my hip condition. I used Pilates, GYROTONIC® exercise and somatic practices such as the Alexander Technique, to relearn how to be in my body after two hip replacements. When you have chronic pain, you tend to be in a constant state of physical and mental stress which creates excessive tightening and bracing. These movement practices helped me discover my own habitual patterns, let them go and redirect my body, mind and energy.” Pam’s teaching experience is in the physical therapy and clinical setting. She’s worked with a variety of clients including older adults, business professionals, dancers, performers and sports enthusiasts. She’s helped those with chronic back, hip and knee pain, joint replacements, Osteoporosis, Scoliosis and neurological conditions including stroke, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease. She incorporates postural re-education and balance into all of her client’s movement programs. “Mindful movement can bring you back home to your body and help you live your best life at every decade!”

Born in Redondo Beach, Debbie has always been drawn to the active lifestyle inspired by the abundance of sunshine. She oftentimes found herself stuck in a rut of mindlessly taking cardio classes and lifting weights at the gym. Then, a friend introduced her to Classical Pilates; and her life had forever changed. Pilates’ focus on awareness, control, and efficient movement fascinated her. This propelled her to explore more about biomechanics and neurological connections, something she dabbled with when getting her BioEngineering degree. So, she quit her corporate job, and started teaching Pilates.

Debbie’s insatiable curiosity about movement drives her to study different modalities, such as the GYROTONIC® Method, that integrate strength, mindfulness, and mobility into functional fitness. Influenced by deeply rooted traditional Chinese philosophies, Debbie is determined to share this holistic approach to help people. She loves finding ways to incorporate these principles into daily life. She is dedicated to creating comprehensive and customized in-clinic and at-home programs to restore and optimize her clients’ health, wellness, and fitness level.
